Our Covid-19 Contingency Plan was developed based on the guidelines of the National Health Care (DGS) and the training associated with the Clean & Safe Seal of Turismo de Portugal. Cozy Lisbon guarantees that all its workers and guests will be informed about the disease COVID19 and about ways to prevent its transmission.
Information on the recommendations and procedures established in this Disease Contingency Plan will be widely disseminated, either on this page or through panels posted in the common areas of our buildings, social networks, digital documents sent to guests and flyers left in each apartment.
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses known to cause disease in humans and are quite common worldwide. The infection causes symptoms that may differ from person to person. SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent of the disease COVID-19, was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan City, China and spread across the world becoming a pandemic.
After exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19, the following symptoms may appear:
The transmission of COVID-19 happens when there is close contact, within a perimeter of up to 2 meters, with an infected person. The risk of transmission increases the longer the contact period. Droplets produced when an infected person speaks, coughs or sneezes are the most important route of transmission. The virus can be directly transmitted by:
Droplet contact with eyes, nose or mouth.
Inhalation aerosol-generating procedures;
Contact of hands with contaminated surfaces, then touching the eyes, nose or mouth;
Direct contact with infectious respiratory secretions, feces, or surfaces contaminated by them.
For the prevention of virus transmission, it is advisable to carry out the following actions:
Use of mask
Ventilation of enclosed spaces
Respiratory etiquette compliance
Compliance with individual hygiene practices
Whenever there is a suspicious case of Covid-19, between employees or guests, these cases must be reported to the General Coordinators of the Contingency Plan of Cozy Lisbon in order to activate the Emergency Plan and subsequently to the Saúde 24 line:

Since Cozy Lisbon does not have a customer service area and its employees are at work and only travel to the buildings for a few hours and always with a specific objective, such as cleaning, changing check-in codes, or assistance to guests, the employee who presents symptoms or thinks may be infected, must inform the General Coordinators of the Contingency Plan and remain isolated at home.
If the suspicious case concerns one of the guests, it must also be reported to the General Coordinators of the Cozy Lisbon Contingency Plan. In this case, since our area does not allow the use of a specific space just for isolation, the guest and all those involved in the reservation, who also become suspicious by contact, must remain in the apartment, where they will be provided with essencial accessories, such as a mask, gloves and thermometer for self-monitoring of temperature. Cozy Lisbon will also be able to provide guests with some pharmacy tests , which do not invalidates the contact with the Saúde 24 line. Guests should remain isolated until the National Health Service gives them consent to continue their normal lives. During the stay in this space, some perishable food and water will also be provided.
Suspected cases must remain in the designated isolation area, equipped with a surgical mask, contact the Saúde 24 line as soon as possible so that they are given instructions by health professionals.
The isolation area must be prohibited to employees, or guests who have not been in direct contact with the suspected case, until they receive indications from the National Health Service.
After the analysis and results, if the case is not confirmed, it is closed for COVID-19.
If the case is confirmed, all the recommendations of the National Health Service regarding the time of isolation must be followed and after discharge, the apartment used by the infected guests must be closed until the decontamination is validated by the Local Health Authority.
In the event of a negative result, the suspect must be monitored on the following days to confirm the absence of symptoms and will be able to make a normal life, as soon as the DGS allows it, presenting a proof of clinical condition to the Contingency Plan Coordinator. from Cozy Lisbon.
In the case of a confirmed case, the cleaning team will provide the disinfection and cleaning of the entire circuit made by the individual to the isolation area, using the equipment necessary for their safety as a mask, smock and gloves.
After guests leave the isolation area, the apartment will be closed for 24 hours, with the windows open in order to promote air circulation. The waste must be stored in a resistant plastic bag, filled to 2/3 of its capacity and placed in a container.
All individuals who maintained close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case should be monitored in the following days, especially if they are:
Employees of the same job;
Employees or guests who were face to face with the confirmed case or were with it in a closed space;
Employees or guests who shared with the confirmed case dishes, towels or other objects or equipment that may be contaminated with sputum, blood or respiratory droplets;
Employees or guests who provided assistance in the confirmed case.
The employee or guest who interacted with a confirmed case should contact the Saúde 24 line, follow the directions of the DGS and carry out daily self-monitoring, during a quarantine phase, which aims at the assessment of Covid-19 symptoms.
If no symptoms appear in the 10 days after the exposure, the situation is closed for COVID-19.
PROCEDURES FOR THE ACCOMMODATION OF NEW GUESTS
The welcoming of new guests will be done, whenever possible, through self check-in, avoiding as much as possible face-to-face contact, even though maintaining virtual support, even during the stay.
In the case of face-to-face contact, the host and guest must always be using a mask and follow the building access rules. Whenever it is not necessary to enter the apartment, meetings must be scheduled for the exterior areas adjacent to the apartment.
Together with the "welcome e-mail", the link to this page will be sent, in Portuguese, or English, so that the guest can prepare their stay. Upon arrival at the apartment, Cozy Lisbon will also send an image with the basic rules for using the space to prevent contagion. The summary of this document will also be made available, on paper, inside the apartment and the complete document at the entrance of each building.
Awareness panels with instructions to promote hand sanitizing and respiratory etiquete will also be posted at the entrance of each building, as well as sanitizer.
Each reservation will be entitled to a protection kit with a disposable mask, depending on the apartment's capacity and sanitizer dispenser.
When entering our buildings, it is mandatory to sanitize hands with the hand sanitizer available at the entrance, as put on a mask for circulation in common areas.
When meeting another individual in a corridor, the guest must ensure the safe distance when passing.
Inside the apartment, the use of air conditioning must be done with awareness. It will be left in extraction mode, which should not be changed for the safety of guests and staff who will perform the cleaning at check-out.
All guests will be asked to remove the bedding and place it, together with towels, cloths and rugs, in a waterproof bag left for the purpose, inside the apartment. This measure will not be mandatory.
In outdoor spaces, social distance must be maintained and any contact with other guests should be avoided. In the Graça building, the use of the swimming pool must be alternated and limited to guests who are on the same reservation. If it is occupied by other guests, they must wait for their departure.
Garden furniture should be kept at a safe distance of 2 meters.
PROTOCOL OF CLEANING AND ACCESS TO THE BUILDING BY EMPLOYEES
Access to the building is done through the main entrance, the employee must wash hands, put on a mask and go to the 3rd floor, to leave belongings in the storage cabinet, changing to the working garments.

House keeping staff will be provided with the following equipment:
The use of all equipment is mandatory.
Upon reaching the apartment, all windows must be opened so that air can circulate.
All textiles must be removed without shaking. The sheets must be carefully wrapped from the outside to the inside and placed in the laundry bag, along with pillowcases, covers, rugs and towels. All this textile material must be removed from the apartment and sent to the exit area and later collected by the cleaning company, that will take care of it according to its own parameters, ensuring their disinfection.
The garbage and residues left by the guest are also removed closed in a bag and placed in the container.
When returning to the apartment, the employee must wipe all the surfaces with a desinfectant cloth.
Most of the cleanings and disinfections at Cozy Lisbon apartments is done by the cleaning company (external) Lotus Services, which, at Cozy Lisbon's request, must follow the standards indicated by Turismo de Portugal in their training. When disinfecting the spaces, they can continue to use the usual products such as bleach in the sanitary and kitchen areas and specific products for wood. All knobs, handles and controls must be disinfected with sanitizer or another product that has the same effect.
During the period of prevention and combating SARS-COV 2, all non-essential elements will be collected and kept safe to avoid unnecessary contagion. As such, each cleaning will only replace the following:
Cover for sleeping mattresses and pillows;
Sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases;
Shower gel / shampoo, conditioner and soap;
1 kit containing a disposable mask for each element of the following reservation.
Water and cookies.
All corridors and stairs must be cleaned as normal and the handles and switches disinfected with sanitizer.
The entrance mats must be sprayed with sanitizer.
CLEANING THE AUTOMATIC CHECK-IN MATERIAL
The safe storage cabinet will be disinfected with each use, as well as the safes themselves. At the end of cleaning, the employee must open the safe, remove
the key used by guests and disinfect the interior of the safe, as well as the key, spraying them with sanitizer. Then the safe must be closed and the same procedure must be used to sanitize the button area and cabinet door.
ALFAMA: All automatic locks are cleaned after each reservation with a cloth moistened with sanitizer.
GARDEN CLEANING PROCEDURES AT GRAÇA BUILDING
Garden furniture should be kept cleaned and disinfected whenever possible, when the cleaning team goes to the building.
The equipment layout must follow the social safety distance:
2 meters between sunbeds
2 meters between each set of table and chairs
The maintenance of the swimming pool will be done as normal, ensuring the necessary application of disinfectant (chlorine). Monitoring will continue to be carried out by an external technical team that will comply with the rules in force.
At the end of each cleaning, the team will register it in the calendar posted in each apartment. The equipment such as cloths, broom, mops and buckets must be desinfected. Individual protective equipment must be safely disposed of in a closed bag and deposited in the common waste container. Each employee must return to sanitize their hands and collect their belongings, leaving through the same place of entry.
Cozy Lisbon undertakes to disclose its rules for preventing and combating SARS COV 19 to its employees and guests, through the aforementioned means and in accordance with the instructions of the DGS and the Clean & Safe training promoted by Turismo de Portugal.
